Golf is changing, and fast.

The days of only playing on full-length courses are giving way to a new era of golf, one that’s more accessible, tech-driven, and social. A recent study found that 51% of golf activity now happens in non-traditional spaces like short courses, driving ranges, and indoor golf centres.

Why? Because people want flexibility. Not everyone has four or five hours to commit to 18 holes, and finding the time, or even a course nearby, can be a challenge. Throw in unpredictable weather, and suddenly that weekend round isn’t so appealing. Golf is no longer just about long days on the course, it’s about multi-functional spaces where you can work and golf, grab a coffee and golf, or even throw a party and golf.

That’s where technology comes in. With Trackman golf simulators, indoor virtual golf is becoming more convenient, more engaging, and more accessible than ever before. Whether you’re squeezing in a quick session, dodging the rain, or making golf a part of your social life, the game is adapting to you, not the other way around.

P.S. Sim Golf Is Changing How We Learn & Play…

Data is now at the heart of the game. In the past, you’d hit a ball and just have to feel whether it was a good shot. Now? Simulators give instant feedback on every single detail, club speed, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance, you name it.

For coaching, this is massive. Instead of guessing at improvements, golfers can track their progress objectively. Players and coaches can see the same numbers, set goals, and actually measure improvement.

And here’s the mad thing: Some stats from the pros aren’t as out of reach as you’d think. On tour, the average face-to-path gap is less than 2 degrees, which is key for accuracy. The good news? With the right training, that level of precision is totally achievable for amateur golfers.

So, What Are We Doing at Sigmoid Golf?

At Sigmoid Golf, we’re bringing this new era of golf to Dublin. We’re not a replacement for the traditional game, we’re the gateway to it.

  • Top-level indoor Trackman simulators that give real-time feedback
  • Coaching designed around data, not just feel
  • A place to play, learn, or just have the craic; whether you’re serious about improving or just want to hit a few shots with your mates
  • A social hub, where golf isn’t about strict dress codes or hushed fairways, but being part of a community

We’re not saying indoor golf is the future of the sport, but we are saying it’s a huge part of it. And we’re buzzing to play our role in making golf more accessible, more fun, and more in tune with how people live today.

Fancy a go? Book a session of virtual golf here in Dublin, grab a coffee, and see for yourself.

Off to practice what I preach.

Cheers,

David
